Phil Wilson MP

Born in Sedgefield Phil Wilson has lived his entire life in the area, currently living with his partner Margaret in Trimdon Village. The son of a Fishburn colliery worker, Phil attended Trimdon Secondary Modern and Sedgefield Comprehensive School before entering a career in the civil service during which he acted as a lay-trade union official.

After working in public affairs Phil was elected Member of Parliament for Sedgefield in 2007 with a majority of 6,956 following the resignation of Tony Blair. He was re-elected in 2010.
