Jonathan Reynolds MP

Jonathan Reynolds was elected as the Member of Parliament for Stalybridge and Hyde at the 2010 General Election.  Prior to this he was an elected member of Tameside Council, representing the Longdendale ward, which is within the Stalybridge and Hyde constituency. He also worked as a solicitor in the Manchester office of law firm Addleshaw Goddard. 

In Parliament he has served as an Opposition Assistant Whip covering the shadow justice and constitutional affairs team, and in October 2011 was appointed as Parliamentary Private Secretary (PPS) to the Leader of the Opposition Ed Miliband.  His parliamentary interests include manufacturing, the armed forces and special needs education. 

His constituency campaigns have included opposition to policing cuts in Tameside, support for local town centres and working with neighbouring MPs to highlight the need for a bypass in Longdendale. As well as the Labour Party, Jonathan is a member of the Co-operative Party, the shopworkers’ union USDAW and the Unite union.
