Ukraine Visit

From 5-7 June the APPG ran a visit to Kiev, Ukraine to visit the authorities with a particular view to understanding more about the preparedness of the Euro2012 and Government officials to tackle incidents of racism and antisemitism during the tournament. This follows work done in the UK with the FA working group on tackling antisemitism and islamophobia in sport.

As a result of the visit, there will be enhanced communication before the games and shared intelligence, particularly on the expressions of racism by white-power groups, known as ‘Ultras’ in football circles.
