Party Conference Events 2011

The APPG Against Antisemitism hosted dinners jointly with the Holocaust Educational Trust at both the Labour and Conservatice annual party policy conference.

The Labour dinner saw host Vernon Coaker MP chair an interesting ‘in conversation’ discussion between David Baddiel (Comedian) and Jonathan Freedland (Journalist) . A number of issues were covered from antisemitism in football to the responsibility of politicians to address antisemitism in all its guises.

Those in attendance included: John Mann MP, John Woodcock MP, Lilian Greenwood MP and Phil Wilson MP (chair and members of the APPG), John Cryer MP, Tristram Hunt MP and Julie Hilling MP together with a number of other opinion formers.  

At the Conservative Party conference, Esther McVey MP hosted a roundtable discussion with academic Matt Goodwin and Conservative Home editor Paul Goodman. The role of the far-right and politics in europe were amongst the subjects for discussion. Other guests included Iain Stewart MP, Gavin Barwell MP and Jason McCartney MP.
